Summer Programming Part 1 – Ron McKeefery

EMU FootballSummer may have already started, but it’s never too late to analyze what you’re doing and make adjustments if necessary.  Like most coaches, you’ve probably thought long and hard about what your team needs and created a summer program to meet those needs.  If you’ve ever looked for advice on how to organize your summer program, who better to ask then a highly-respected strength coach who has produced terrific results throughout his career?

Through his experience and dedication to bettering the field, Ron McKeefery has become one of the most influential strength coaches in football.  After spending nine years at the University of South Florida, Ron spent three years at Tennessee, one year with the Cincinnati Bengals and recently moved to Michigan to join his college coach, Chris Creighton, at Eastern Michigan University.

Ron has spoken at conferences and clinics around the country, and he regularly helps football coaches plan for different phases of training.  We brought Coach McKeefery in to teach us about his summer football training program and how he organizes everything.  Because there was so much great information, we have broken his presentation into a 4-part mini-series.  The first installment covers Team Goals, which is where Ron starts his planning process.

Coach McKeefery has produced some terrific products for football coaches like Strength On Demand which is a mega-library of strength & conditioning coaches giving presentations about different training topics.  If you’re constantly seeking new training information, you owe it to yourself to check this out.

Enjoy Part I of Coach McKeefery’s presentation, and look for the rest of the series soon.
